One of the major activities at Goa Institute of Management (GIM) has been designing, developing and conducting innovative Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for professionalizing management for working executives in India. The globalized business environment demands that managers leverage the most advanced approaches to keep abreast of changes. Hence, it becomes essential for managers to continuously update themselves about the changes in business management practices to enhance the thinking process for better quality decision-making. Due to this growing need of training and development for corporate executives, GIM has been consistently imparting training on the current areas of interest to corporate executives at all levels through MDPs, customized in-house programmes and consultancy as an important academic extension activity. The programs are designed to provide innovative and practical solutions to critical management challenges. Objectives : - To equip managers with knowledge, skills and attitudes required for effectively responding to the changing competitive pressures and opportunities.
- To help executives in broadening their outlook and strengthening their skills to prepare them to face the challenges at higher positions.
- To provide new insights into managerial concepts and techniques relevant for formulating and implementing strategies in functional areas.
- To provide the executives with an opportunity to access contemporary thinking, exchange ideas and gain insights from a diverse range of peers.
Activities : - To design MDPs with a proper blend of conceptual and experiential learning.
- To offer various specialized programmes for practicing managers at various levels which is designed to fill knowledge and skill gaps in different functional areas.
- To provide inputs on broadening the management horizons of participants.
Programmes Types : - Open short duration residential or non-residential programmes for working executives.
- Short or long duration in-company Programmes - customized MDPs to suit individual organization’s needs on all the areas at different levels. The programmes are held either in-house or on the Institute’s campus.
Pedagogy : - Lectures, Case studies, business games, role-plays and group exercises, computer games, presentations by participants.
- Interaction with experienced faculty and fellow participants.

- Discount structure: If single company sponsors:
- 3 persons at a time : 5%
- 4 to 10 persons : 10%
- More than 10 persons : 15%
- In-Company MDPs : Rs.40000/- upto 20 persons, per day and Rs.2500/- extra per person per day over and above 20 persons for Non-Residential, plus service tax as applicable.
