Marketing Dynamic Conference 2025

A Confluence of Cutting-Edge Marketing Scholarship and Global Collaboration
Goa, 15-17 May 2025: Goa Institute of Management (GIM) recently hosted the prestigious Marketing Dynamics Conference (MDC 2025), bringing together over 85 eminent marketing scholars from across the globe. Held over three days—from the serene hills of Sanquelim to the sun-kissed shores of Dona Paula—the conference left a lasting impression on all who attended.

Co-chaired by Prof. Shantanu Prasad (Associate Professor & Area Chairperson of Marketing, GIM), Prof. Raghunath Singh Rao (Chair of the Department of Marketing, University of Texas at Austin), and Prof. Alok R. Saboo (Associate Professor of marketing, Georgia State University), the event unfolded in two phases: the PhD tracks and welcome session at GIM’s campus on May 15, followed by the main conference at Taj Cidade de Goa Horizon on May 16–17.

A Global Gathering of Brilliant Minds and Ideas
Despite early uncertainty due to international travel disruptions and geopolitical tensions, the conference stood firm and culminated in a deeply enriching experience. Scholars from FT50 journal editorial boards and global institutions—such as UC Berkeley, Dartmouth, Yale, INSEAD, ESSEC, University of Groningen, ISB, IIMs, University of Maryland, and Oxford—presented ground-breaking research and engaged in dynamic scholarly exchange.

Highlights included:
- A power-packed Editors’ Session titled “Cracking the Code: How to get your paper published in top-tier journals”, led by editors from Journal of Marketing, JMR, Marketing Science, POM, and other top journals.
- Vibrant discussions across eight tracks, including a special AI-SIG track, addressing themes such as Generative AI in consumer research, sustainability marketing, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), digital consumption patterns, and emerging markets.
- Strong mentorship and feedback during PhD sessions, fostering the next generation of marketing scholars.
A Celebration of Thoughts and Dialogues
The intellectual intensity of the presentations was matched by GIM’s trademark hospitality. Beyond the presentations, MDC 2025 was designed to foster dialogue across generations and geographies. From the gala dinner at Bay 15 to impromptu discussions by the sea, the atmosphere was one of both scholarly rigor and relaxed exchange. Participants repeatedly praised:
- The world-class organization and execution of the event.
- The natural beauty and tranquility of the GIM campus.
- The gracious hospitality offered throughout—from thoughtful logistics to the warm camaraderie at the poolside welcome dinner and gala evening at Bay 15.

Reflections and Gratitude
In a heartfelt message after the event, Prof. Shantanu Prasad expressed: “We have had ineffable, thought-provoking, and joyous feelings at the quality of papers presented at MDC 2025. Each participant carried with them a moment of truth—something we had aspired to achieve alongside advancing cutting-edge marketing research.” Prof. Ajit Parulekar, Director of GIM, applauded the team’s efforts: “The team set a new benchmark for academic conferences at GIM. The conference not only elevates our global academic presence but also paves the way for lasting research collaborations.” The success of MDC 2025 was made possible by the extraordinary contributions of GIM’s faculty, staff, and the unwavering support of international participants who chose to join despite global uncertainties.
