Executive – Project Engineer (Civil)
GIM seeks to appoint an experienced and driven Project Engineer with industry knowledge. The ideal candidate should be comfortable splitting their hours between the office, on-site visits, and attending management meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Planning & Co-ordination:
- Co-ordinate with different vendors and contractors for smooth functioning of projects.
- Review the necessary equipment, material, manpower needed, resource requirements and forecast the duration to completion of construction work.
- Monitor and report the updates including progress, risks, and opportunities promptly to the Head of Projects.
- Track the Contractor’s schedules, maintain the hindrance register, and assist with delay analysis and information required for contractual communication.
- Identify opportunities to optimize the project schedule and recommend solutions to mitigate delays.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on on-site planning, execution issues, etc.
- Study drawings and notify the discrepancies in drawings, site constraints, and any changes required.
- Site Supervision:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the juniors.
- Supervising day-to-day site activities, guiding contractor staff and allocating tasks to the juniors.
- Monitoring internal and external resources to accomplish all tasks and milestones.
- Ensuring the correct methodologies and contract specifications are followed strictly.
- Co-ordinating with Civil, Electrical, HVAC, Fire, interior contractors and internal resources for the flawless execution of projects.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation with the help of juniors.
- Following the guidance from the Head of Projects and ensuring that project completion is on time and within budget..
- Quality Control:
- Ensure the work is executed as per the right methodologies. Incumbent should be well versed with standard work methodologies RCC, as well as all civil finishes.
- Ensure that all contractors follow best-in-class construction standards.
- Ensure that QA/QC Plan is strictly followed at the site by all agencies and contractors.
- Monitoring the Field / Lab tests and ensuring all the required checks are done during the execution.
- Safety Management:
- Ensure Safety Culture is maintained at the site.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report the issues.
- Ensure PPE and other mandatory requirements are fulfilled by the contractors..
