- The PGDM curriculum comprising of 6 terms is a judicious blend of theory and practice with the focus on building the necessary concepts, skills and competencies to augment career growth and is regularly reviewed in consultation with the Academic Advisory Committee comprising of experts from industry and academia.
- The style of class is participatory, thus being an impetus in enhancing student capabilities.
- Teamwork is strongly emphasized, through interactive and group learning, which increases participation and helps maintain student involvement.
- Students analytical skills are tested through problem-based cases, whereas the question and discussion periods and debates help stimulate thought.
- Visual and computer-based instruction along with technology-based delivery provide a more effective presentation of course material.

- The Area concerns itself with Leadership and Management of the enterprise as a whole.
- The Area provides courses from various Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines to broaden the thinking of managers.
- The Social Responsibility and Action (SRA) Project is a compulsory field -based project undertaken by participants for 20 Thursdays during the first year.
The participants work on projects with different Corporates, Government Organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations, that benefit the local community and disadvantaged sections of society.
- Capstone Simulation is a web-based Business Strategy Simulation.
The participants form groups, own a business and play the role of its managers and engage in an experience that integrates all functional areas of business.
- Blue Ocean Strategy Simulation (BOSS) is a web-based simulation exercise that provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of the core concepts of blue ocean strategy and gives participants an opportunity to explore and study in depth the logic and methods that are common to blue ocean strategic moves in real business settings

- The two-year full-time PGDM is the Institute’s flagship programme that is accorded NBA accreditation and equivalence with Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree of an Indian University.
- To develop specific skills different learning methods – from problem analyses, case studies in groups, and simulated games to small group seminars and 'laboratory' exercises – are appropriately used.
- In order to facilitate the learning process, students are also provided ready access to the Institute’s electronic databases, learning material, and internet resources.
Compulsory 4-credit course “Social Responsibility and Action”
The course has two components:
A three-credit experiential project:
With partner organizations (such as banks and NGOs)
One-credit classroom learning experience
Classroom discussions of films and articles on responsibility reinforce project learnings.
- The Summer Internship Project (SIP) at GIM aims at being a bridge between institutional delivery of knowledge and contemporary organisational practices
- As part of the curriculum, each student takes up live projects with corporates for a minimum of 8 to 10 weeks during the summer after first year.
- These projects are based on a significant aspect or problem of organizational management.
- The aim of the summer project is to provide students an opportunity to observe closely an organization in operation, and to relate what they have learnt in class to actual practice.
- GIM’s student exchange programs enable students from its partner Universities to study here in Goa as well as enables GIM students to study abroad at the partner University.
- This opportunity exposes our students to a cross-cultural learning environment and GIM has had the pleasure of hosting students from its international partner Universities at its campus here in Goa.
- Students are encouraged to participate in these exchange programs and are supported by the International Exchange Program Coordinators.
- The students who are meritorious and yet do not have the means to go for the exchange programs are supported by some limited number of scholarships from the institute.
- GIM has exchange programme arrangements with the following institutions across the world:

North Central Association of Colleges and Schools) - Under these exchange partnerships students attend a summer school or spend a full term at the host school
- Student has an option of submitting a Masters Level Dissertation instead of a three-credit elective course with the approval of the Programme Chair.

- International Consulting Bootcamp is held every year in the month of September in collaboration between the University of Antwerp and GIM.
- Students from the University of Antwerp and GIM work together on live projects in organizations in Goa.
- The projects are spread across various industries and challenge students to work together in cross-cultural groups to solve real management problems faced by the organizations.
- This is an intensive two-week program and provides a unique learning experience to students from both Institutes.
- Students from the University of Antwerp travel to India along with their Professors for this Seminar.
- It has over the years successfully delivered on projects in organizations and participating students have found it to be an excellent opportunity to learn how to work across cultural differences as well as to experience working on live projects with tight deadlines.
