Dr. Abhinav earned his Ph.D degree in Finance from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 2023. His research interests are broadly in behavioral corporate finance, managerial discretionary decisions, and issues in corporate governance. His existing research focuses on the influence of temporal changes in investor beliefs and market-wide factors on managerial discretionary decisions. He has presented his research work at many international and national conferences, including the International Conference of the French Finance Association, the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Behavioral Finance & Economics, the India Finance Conference (IFC), International Conference on Financial markets & Corporate Finance and others. Prof. Sharma teaches Financial Markets, Corporate Finance, and Corporate Valuation courses at GIM. He is also a full-time member of the Centre for Excellence in Sustainable Development and is actively involved in various sustainability projects undertaken at GIM. He has earned his post-graduate and graduate degrees in Economics and has also worked for more than a year in the Marketing Analytics division of Genpact India.
