• The HCM programme has been carefully structured after considering industry needs, existing gaps and future requirements.
• The courses under the programme are a blend of management and healthcare functions.
• Case-based and practical methods of training ensure that students to differentiate and make themselves more suitable for seeking career opportunities in any particular domain of healthcare i.e. IT/Consulting, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Hospitals, Public Health or Health Insurance.

• This is a social sensitivity course conducted in second year.
• It is a field-based course in which students are attached to a specific NGO working in field of healthcare.
• Student in groups visit the NGO on every Wednesday and work along with them for a social cause related to healthcare.
• The objective of this is to sensitize students on social aspects, so that later in their career they not only grow professionally but also appreciate socially inclusive growth.

• A practical field-based course, KYHP is conducted in terms 1, 2, and 3 in order to develop practical learning amongst students.
• This course provides extensive exposure to the functioning of the healthcare industry through a first-hand experience of working closely with hospitals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, public health organizations, and other healthcare institutions.
• Every Wednesday, students observe and study the working of an organization to experience the practices in the health sector.
• The Healthcare Thursday program goes beyond the typical ‘industry visits' by including structured tasks and analysis that student groups perform/study in these professional healthcare environments.
• Student groups are guided by GIM faculty and managers concerned at the healthcare facility.

• GIM’s student exchange programs enable students from its partner Universities to study here in Goa as well as enables GIM students to study abroad at the partner University.
• This opportunity exposes our students to a cross-cultural learning environment and GIM has had the pleasure of hosting students from its international partner Universities at its campus here in Goa.
• Students are encouraged to participate in these exchange programs and are supported by the International Exchange Program Coordinators.
• The students who are meritorious and yet do not have the means to go for the exchange programs are supported by some limited number of scholarships from the institute.

• Goa Institute of Management is proud to become the first B-school from India to be an institutional member of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH).
• The consortium is dedicated to working on public health issues in a collaborative manner.

• Students undergo an intensive 10-week industry-based summer internship at the end of the first year to get practical exposure of the first-hand principles and concepts of management which they have learnt in the first year.
• With our wide industry network, the students get an opportunity to undergo internship in the most reputed healthcare organizations in the country.
• The internship is well structured towards gaining utmost practical experience of working in a healthcare organization with a faculty from GIM and a supervisor from within the organization assigned as a guide for every student.
• Besides, being a practical learning opportunity, it often benefits the student through paid stipend and also paves the way for final recruitment of the student in the organization.

• For an all-round development of students, a series of co-curricular activities are conducted by the institute in every term, that focuses on different aspects of student development.
• These activities include: film reviews, book reviews, panel discussion (by professionals from industry), Ribandar talks (A CEO level talk series), Business buzz (quiz, debates, extempore etc.) and compulsory Library reading.

• About Us:
  Founded in 2021 under the Healthcare Management Programme (HCM), Prabhaav is a student initiative dedicated to nurturing future healthcare leaders who drive meaningful impact. True to its name, Prabhaav — meaning “influence” or “impact” — bridges the gap between healthcare, management, and community well-being through awareness, innovation, and collaboration.
  The club provides a platform for students to explore contemporary healthcare challenges, engage in hands-on initiatives, and promote a culture of empathy and health consciousness across the GIM community.
   
• What We Do:
  Prabhaav organizes a diverse range of initiatives aimed at building knowledge, skills, and social responsibility:
  Awareness & Outreach: Pink Ribbon Day and Aarogyam health screening camps promote preventive healthcare and inclusivity.
  Skill Building: Basic Life Support (BLS) Training empowers students with emergency response skills.
  Knowledge Exchange: Events like BioVantage and The Digitization Conundrum encourage innovation and debate on healthcare advancements.
  Wellness Promotion: Stepper of the Week event fosters fitness, and community engagement.
  A Lesson in Management: Organizing such events enhances students’ managerial and stakeholder engagement skills through practical application of their knowledge gathered via the HCM program.
   
• Our Impact:
  Prabhaav has touched hundreds of lives within and beyond the campus through collaborations with Manipal Hospitals, YouWeCan – Yuvraj Singh Foundation, and Rotary Clubs of Goa. By integrating purpose with practice, Prabhaav continues to create a lasting impact — shaping healthcare managers who lead with both competence and compassion.

• Other than the core and elective courses, academic rigour among students is enhanced by offering compulsory non-credit courses like Entrepreneurship, Compliance issues in the healthcare industry, Healthcare Consumer Behaviour, Public Health, Medical Device and Medical Technology Management.
• The students are also exposed to etiquette and grooming which helps in developing cultural and social sensitivity in dealing with different healthcare contexts
