Profile History

Shikha Agarwal is a Senior Lecturer at the Goa Institute of Management, specialising in Family Business, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management. Her research examines how multigenerational business families govern complexity across generations, with a focus on governance mechanisms and the cultural and relational dynamics that shape family firm behaviour. She is pursuing her Fellow Programme in Management (Strategy) from the Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur, and has served as a Visiting Scholar at the American University of Sharjah, UAE, collaborating with Dr. Rodrigo Basco on family business governance research. She brings a rare insider perspective to her work, having grown up in and worked within a family enterprise before pursuing her academic career. Her research has been presented at international and national forums including the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, the European Academy of Management, the International Family Business Research Forum, the Indian Academy of Management, and the India Strategy Conference. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology (Honours) from the University of Delhi and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Entrepreneurship from the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India.
