The program is designed to simulate highly motivated undergraduate and postgraduate students to undergo research projects under the supervision of GIM faculties from the area of:

The aim of GIM-SRIP is to provide excellent students with a broad range of research experiences and knowledge to promote them early on in their careers.

Highlights of SRIP 2025

  • SRIP 2025 will be in hybrid mode. 
  • The internship start date is 5th May 2025.
  • Internship End Date: 27th June 2025.
  • On-campus: 5th May to 30th May 2025.  
  • Online: 2nd June to 27th June 2025.
  • Hostel accommodation will be provided from 3rd May to 1st June.
  • Announcement of Results: End of March.
  • Stipend: Rs. 2500 per week. (Rs. 20,000 for eight weeks.)
  • Flexible start & end dates of internship are not allowed. Less or more than eight weeks of internship are not allowed.
  • SRIP 2025 completion certificate will be provided to candidates who successfully complete the internship.

  1. What are the qualifications or eligibility criteria required to apply for the Summer Research Internship Program (SRIP)?
    Suitable for highly motivated undergraduate and postgraduate students (including integrated masters')

  3. What criteria should I consider when selecting the area and faculty?
    You should select the area and the faculty based on your interest. Faculty Research Profiles are available at https://gim.ac.in/people/faculty
  4. Is submitting applications to multiple professors across different departments permissible?
    No. Submitting multiple applications will result in the disqualification of your candidacy. Please ensure that you carefully choose your mentor and submit only one application to maintain eligibility.
  5. Does the provision of free hostel accommodation encompass both lodging and food?
    Yes. You can avail of hostel accommodation and food from 3rd May 2025 until 1st June 2025.  
  6. Does SRIP include work-from-home options?
    No.
  7. Can I begin the internship before or after the scheduled start date?
    No. All candidates' internships start on 5 May and end on 27 June 2025.
  8. Is it permissible to complete the internship for a duration shorter than the one originally specified?
    No.
  9. Is it possible to change the selected research area and faculty after completing the registration process for SRIP?
    No.
  10. When can I expect to receive the results from the SRIP team?
    The shortlisted candidates will be contacted by their faculty mentors in March. For more updates, periodically check your registered email.
  11. What will be the roles and responsibilities of a candidate if selected as SRIP Intern?
    Your roles and responsibilities will be assigned to you by your faculty mentor.
  12. Do we get an SRIP certificate after the internship? 
    Upon successful (success criterion to be decided by your faculty mentor) completion of your internship, you will receive a certificate.
