Profile history
Vikram Singh is an Assistant Professor in the area of Finance at the Goa Institute of Management. He submitted his Ph.D. (2019-2025) thesis in Finance at the Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. His academic background includes an MBA (2011-13) in Finance from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), Pune, and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (2005-09) from the Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune. He also holds UGC-NET certification in the Management subject.
His research interests lie in sustainable finance, with a specific focus on green bond markets. His Ph.D. thesis explores pricing dynamics, repayment obligation structures, and regulatory dimensions of green bonds. Over the years, he has had the privilege of presenting his research work at reputed international conferences, such as the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) Conference held in Dubai in 2023 and the 14th Financial Markets and Corporate Governance Conference held in Kuala Lumpur in 2024. Notably, one of his papers on green bond pricing was recognized with the Best Paper Award at the British Accounting and Finance Association Conference. In addition, his research contributions include a couple of publications in ABDC-A ranked journals, namely, International Review of Economics & Finance, and Finance Research Letters.
Before pursuing a Ph.D. (2015-19), he delved into teaching aspirants for Bank PO and UGC-NET examinations in the areas of banking and finance at competitive exam coaching institutes in Delhi.
Prior to joining academia full-time, the professor also had a couple of short and rigorous industry exposures. His corporate journey spans the financial services and automotive manufacturing sectors, with roles ranging from supplier quality development engineer to credit analyst. In particular, he served as a Senior Engineer in the 'Supplier Quality and Development' department of an axle manufacturing firm named Spicer India Limited, based in Pune.
Following his MBA, he took on a credit analyst role in Magma Fin Corp Limited (an NBFC) for the car loan division in North Indian Cities of Chandigarh and Delhi.
His teaching interests include Corporate Valuations, Fixed Income Securities, Financial Management, Financial Mathematics, and Banking and Financial Institutions.
