Vivek Kumar Sundriyal

History & Profile

Vivek Sundriyal is a researcher in the area of management and entrepreneurship with prior formal education in computer science and business administration. His research aims to enhance the understanding of founding team dynamics, entrepreneurial careers, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in entrepreneurship, typically using large-scale data and computer simulations. He is also working on understanding how computational text and video data analysis can help uncover critical questions in management and entrepreneurship.
Professor Sundriyal has contributed as a reviewer in Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, Technovation, and Journal of Business Research. His contribution as a reviewer has also earned him the Outstanding Reviewer at the Academy of Management (ENT division) Annual Conference.
Professor Sundriyal has taught management and entrepreneurship subjects such as Digital Transformation and Organisational Change, Organisations for Purpose and Profit, and Innovation and Project Management to undergraduate and graduate students. His teaching is built on the belief that students must be ahead of the curve in a competitive world through continuous learning, commitment, and dedication. He also believes that students must be encouraged to consider organisations as avenues beyond profit-making, where sustainability and social purpose are central to management thinking.
In his prior corporate life at large multinational companies such as STMicroelectronics and NXP Semiconductors, he worked in various roles ranging from software development to technical leadership. He also owned a start-up before deciding to pursue an academic career.
